Quarter-sawn oak has a medullary ray figure — a silver-flecked, almost iridescent pattern in the grain — that only appears when the log is cut at a specific angle, and that most early 20th-century British furniture used liberally. This wardrobe armoire is a textbook example of the Jacobean Revival meeting Art Deco: the carved relief panel on the center door is Jacobean in vocabulary, the proportions and the original teardrop swing handles are decidedly 1920s transitional. At 76.25 inches tall and 47 inches wide it's a significant piece that needs a room with real wall height, and rewards that room generously.

76.25″ tall · 47″ wide · 16.5″ deep · quarter-sawn oak · center door · single drawer · original teardrop swing handles · British early 20th-century · minor wear consistent with age · fully functional
